Xuru White-Feather Meat Duck Breed System—Guided by the national “Seed Industry Revitalization Action Plan” and aimed at promoting industrial transformation, upgrading, and structural adjustment, we are establishing a collaborative innovation consortium integrating “industry, academia, research, and application” for breeding. This will create a domestically leading innovation platform for meat duck breeding. Building upon the new meat duck lines developed and selected by Xuru Food and Sichuan Agricultural University during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, we will break through key breeding technologies and methods for important economic traits in meat ducks. By 2025, we aim to develop a meat duck breed system that has passed national variety certification and possesses independent intellectual property rights. We will also develop supporting technologies for superior breed farming practices and establish an integrated “breeding, propagation, and promotion” production system for meat ducks, with enterprises playing the central role. This will address existing shortcomings in the development of the meat duck industry, thereby driving high-quality and sustainable growth of Henan’s meat duck industry.
