On March 17, the 10th China Meat Duck Industry Healthy Development and Disease Control Summit Forum was grandly held in Tai’an, Shandong. With “Precision Prevention and Control, Efficient Development” as its central theme, the summit brought together more than 600 industry professionals, experts, and entrepreneurs from across the country to jointly explore the future of the sector.

With “Precision Prevention and Control, Efficient Development” as its core theme, the summit brought together over 600 industry professionals, experts, and entrepreneurs from across the country to discuss the future of the sector. Henan Xuru Food’s “Yellow River Native Duck Brand Building” project was awarded the Second Prize for Innovative Achievements in High-Quality Development of the Meat Duck Industry, thanks to its groundbreaking advancements.
At the conference, Zhu Junsheng, Deputy General Manager of our company, represented Xuru Group in sharing his experiences and innovative practices in brand innovation management with the attendees, providing industry peers with highly valuable insights and references, and injecting fresh innovative momentum into the high-quality development of the meat duck industry.
Henan Xuru Food Co., Ltd., as a national key leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization with a full-industry-chain layout integrating “seed source cultivation, superior breed propagation, commercial meat duck farming, slaughtering, deep food processing, and feed research and production,” has consistently advanced brand innovation guided by market demand. In response to the untapped high-end meat duck market, the company pioneered a variety‑optimization project in 2013 and, by refining its feeding regimen, successfully developed the “Yellow River Native Duck” meat duck brand.
To further break through developmental bottlenecks, in 2019 the company partnered with Sichuan Agricultural University to launch a project aimed at creating a new complementary breeding line for “Huai-fu Meat Ducks.” After six years of selective breeding, the team successfully developed highly efficient breeding technologies and methods for key economic traits in meat ducks. By leveraging marker-assisted selection, they precisely identified genes associated with desirable traits and integrated these with advanced, high‑efficiency breeding practices, significantly boosting breeding efficiency and markedly improving duck quality. The “Yellow River Native Duck” brand series, underpinned by this complementary “Huai-fu Meat Duck” line, perfectly meets market demand for premium meat ducks across multiple dimensions—including body conformation, feather cleanliness, skin‑fat ratio, maturity, muscle elasticity, sternal bone density, and nutrient content—earning consistent acclaim from customers.
At present, the “Huai‑fu Meat Duck” composite line has entered the final stage of national new‑breed approval, and it is expected to successfully achieve its set objectives by year’s end, securing the official certificate for the “Huai‑fu Meat Duck” composite line. This achievement not only fills a critical gap in Henan Province’s meat‑duck genetic resources, injecting strong momentum into the province’s meat‑duck industry, but will also help propel the national meat‑duck sector toward higher quality, stronger branding, and greater standardization.
